Best Places To Buy Discount Golf Balls

It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out with golf or you’re a seasoned veteran; golf balls have a way of getting lost, so it can be best to just get yourself some discount golf balls. Losing balls doesn’t even have to do with how well you play. I’ve lost balls that I thought were hit in the middle of the fairway. I’ve lost balls in the sun. I’ve lost balls in rough that was just a tad too deep. It happens. Losing golf balls is just a part of the game.

I used to get upset whenever I lost a ball, but with age comes wisdom (and better emotional control), and now I feel there’s no point in fighting it, so I might as well embrace it.

With that said, sometimes it’s not worth losing some nice, expensive golf balls when you’re just trying to play a practice round. So for those times, I think it’s better to skip the fancy dimplers and get yourself a ton of used or recycled balls so you can just play to your heart’s content without feeling like you lost a precious gem every time you lose a ball.

Besides, golf ball manufacturing has experienced massive technological advances over the past decade. Gone are the days when golf balls were made of a liquid core and would experience compression and distance loss after being exposed to extreme heat or being submerged in water.

Here are the best places to order golf balls for beginners and budget-conscious golfers alike.

TIP: I would recommend staying in the AAA-AAAA range of ball quality (AAAAA is the highest)

LOTS of people claim that this site has the best golf balls at the best prices compared to other used golf ball companies.

  • Free shipping on orders over $69

Rock Bottom Golf

The “Ammo Box” balls from this site are “refinished,” which means that a very thin layer was applied to them to make them look new again. Honestly, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Ebay

A lot of free shipping here. Just make sure to check the seller’s rating before you buy.

Walmart

Hard to go wrong with Walmart, but I find their shipping to be rather slow and cumbersome (at least compared to Amazon). So if you don’t mind waiting a little longer, you can find some good deals on here.

Amazon

Of course Amazon is always a trusty place to find all sorts of gems. Here are the best golf ball deals I could find:

TaylorMade Distance Plus Golf Balls (One Dozen)$11.97

Callaway 50 Supersoft – Value (AAA) Grade – Recycled (Used) Golf Balls$25.97

Callaway Player Mix 48 Recycled Golf Balls$29.93

Color Recycled Golf Balls Mix (Pack of 50)$22.03

This mix of colored golf balls is great for the golfer who likes to switch it up from plain old white (like me). They’re near mint, which means they’re in very good condition with maybe slight cosmetic blemishes or minor imperfections. They’re similar to new balls that have been played for only 3 or 4 holes. This mix will contain golf balls with different colors and different brands. It’s really a great opportunity to try different types, brands, and colors for you to find out what works best for you and your golf game. Who knows? Maybe you’ll end up preferring something you’ve never hit before.

This nice set of 50 balls should last you a good while. However, they are from mid-tier and so-called “off-brand” manufacturers, so you might get a lot of brands you’ve never heard of. Also, some users reported only receiving a small handful of colored balls in their orders.

Pinnacle Recycled Grade A Golf Balls Cleaned Golf Balls Mint Condition 72 Balls Assorted Models in Onion Mesh Bag$29.33

Noodle Mint Recycled Golf Balls (36 Pack)$34.00

Honorable Mention: 100 Ball Mesh Bag Hit Away Practice Used Golf Balls

As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for,” and these balls definitely live up to that. Purchasing this massive set of 100 golf balls is basically a crap shoot. Some buyers complained that the majority of the balls they purchased were warped, cracked, filed down to a dull finish, or painted. Some were even more than 20 years old. But others were very happy with their purchases, claiming that the balls were nicer than the used ones you’ll find at Target, Walmart, or any other big-box chain.

If you end up purchasing this set, be sure to do a count, though. Some buyers have warned of receiving only a disappointing 80 balls while others reported receiving all 100 and sometimes a few more. So if you’re willing to roll the dice, this might not be a bad choice for you. But personally, I don’t think I would take the chance.
